Since 1 August 2014, the Passive Education Act has been in force. Appropriate Education means: high-quality education for every child, as close to home as possible by bringing the extra support to the child as much as possible, instead of the child to the support. Atalenta strives to provide the most appropriate educational place for all pupils.
Adequate education
Appropriate education to all children
School boards have a duty of care. This means that they are responsible for providing appropriate education to all children who register with them. If necessary, they offer extra support for that purpose. Preferably at the school itself. Is it not possible to offer suitable support? Then the school looks for a suitable educational place nearby. To arrange this properly, the Atalanta schools work together with other regular and special schools in their region.
Atalenta Expertise Team
The impact of the teacher's actions is central at Atalenta and ensures that children can develop in the best possible way. We support the teacher to provide that strong basis as well as possible.
Atalenta organises this support by, among other things, making a firm commitment to internal didactic and pedagogical expertise in the form of an Expertise Team for Appropriate Education and a Staff Department for Educational Development and Quality (OOK).
The schools themselves are responsible for the quality of basic support. This must meet the standards of the Education Inspectorate and those agreed upon within the partnership.
Partnership
Atalenta is part of Partnership (SWV) PO de Kempen. Within 'SWV PO De Kempen' and our organisation, we make a distinction between :
- Basic support
- Light support
- Heavy (extra) support
School support profile
Would you like to know how a school has designed the basic support and light support and what extra options are offered? You can find this out in the school support profile, which matches the schools' educational concept.
